I have taken one painting class in my life; this was the final result. I will probably never paint again, but I learned an incredible amount in Jim Cogswell’s “Organizing Visual Space” studio that I was able to utilize in other areas of my work. This piece began from abstract collages that I made from magazine clippings. From there, we painted the collage and messed with depth and the medium of oil paint to convey more than what was just in the collage.
